More Than Half of Gym Goers Use Their Fitness Center's Pool on a Weekly Basis, Demonstrating a High Demand for This Feature
October 24, 2024
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 24, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- VivoAquatics, a leading water management solution company, today released the findings of an independent survey that underscores the importance of proper pool management for fitness centers. According to the data, nearly 60% of gym goers prioritize having access to a pool when selecting a fitness center – in fact, access to a pool was ranked the second most important amenity when choosing a gym, right behind state-of-the-art equipment. Additionally, more than 56% of respondents use their fitness center's pool on a weekly basis. With a clear demand for pools in gyms, it's critical for fitness centers to maintain high operational standards for ultimate guest satisfaction.
"These findings clearly demonstrate the significant value that gym goers place on having access to a pool, making proper water management a must for gym owners and managers," said Richard Lindhorn, vice president of marketing and corporate development for VivoAquatics. "With the implementation of the right technology, owners and managers can easily access real-time data on water quality, temperature, chemical balance and more from anywhere, at any time. This ensures that any deviation from safety parameters can be identified and addressed as quickly as possible so members can continue to enjoy their facilities' pools to the fullest."
The survey also found that while most respondents are satisfied with the sanitation and maintenance of their gym's pool, about 24% reported that they've experienced an unexpected pool closure. Additionally, 47.15% of respondents said they haven't received detailed information about pool sanitation or safety from their fitness center, suggesting an opportunity for enhanced communication.
"By taking a proactive approach to pool management, fitness centers can significantly reduce the risk of waterborne illnesses and other issues that could lead to unwanted pool closures," added Lindhorn. "To take this one step further, it can also be beneficial for owners and managers to communicate their water quality standards to members, educating them on the robust system they have in place and inspiring overall confidence."
